The term HyperNormalisation was first used by a historian of late Soviet Russia, that describes a

state where government attempts to disorientate its people by disseminating an array of

contradictory messages, fact and fiction, propaganda and truth. The central premise, in lay

terms, is that loads of people keep making stuff up to either deceive us or to avoid dealing with

the complexities of the real world. Adam Curtis’s BBC documentary, “HyperNormalisation,”

seeks to tell how we got to such a troubling moment in world history. Yes, again, the film

“HyperNormalisation” spends nearly three hours telling us how we got to such a troubling

moment in world history. Curtis’s insistent voice-over tells us toward the beginning of his long

documentary, which he also wrote and edited says while displaying gifts of intellectual montage

that create art out of detritus “As this fake world grew, all of us went along with it because the

simplicity was reassuring,” which means people just go with the flow because good and evil

things come and go. “We live in a world where the powerful deceive us. We know they lie, they

know we know they lie, they don’t care. We say we care, but we do nothing. And nothing ever

changes. It’s normal. Welcome to the post-truth world.” people who have this 'power' avoid

telling the public the uncomfortable and complicated truths about the world in order to retain

power within a status quo that isn’t ever quite what it seems to be because politicians no longer

dream of changing the world. They just go for a hollow change to their nation but having this

deep hidden agenda where lies and the genius level of propaganda are kept with this 'fake

world'. People also simultaneously believe everything they hear, and yet remain cynical and

skeptical about its veracity and intent. People enjoy self-reflection, self-affirmation or

engagement so much that they will happily take them with fake things and/or in a fake way.

Arriving from the movie, it explains not only why the chaotic events shows in the video are

happening—but also why we, and our politicians, cannot understand them. Events keep

happening that seem unexplainable and out of control—from Donald Trump to Brexit, the War

in Syria, the endless migrant crisis, and random bomb attacks
