Developmental Psychology Developmental Psychology is interesting to me because this field studies human development throughout one’s life. I am currently pursuing a career path in either being a Social Worker or owning my own Day Care Center. Learning about a person’s life from birth and childhood to adulthood and how they develop, how they grow and change can go in line with both career paths that I have chosen. Although, developmental psychology can take time, I find it fascinating how so many things that surround a person can influence how that person turns out to be all the way to adulthood. “Developmental psychologists study a wide range of theoretical areas, such as biological, social, emotion, and cognitive processes.” (McLeod, 2012). It is a very broad field and goes into a lot of depth but each subcategory can help me understand how the environment, peers, and society can help mold a person.
