Antibiotic assay by agar diffusion method. BI-209-102
RESULTS
Initially four standard solutions of penicillin antibiotic were prepared of 0.64, 0.80, 1.25
and 1.56 units/mL concentration. All the standard penicillin solution and one unknown solution
were added in penicylinders in agar plate. The below given table shows the clear zone obtained
by inhibition of S.aureus growth in the presence of various concentration of penicillin. The agar
plates were incubated at 35° C for 48 hours.
Table No: 1: Zone of inhibition after inhibition of culture by various concentration of Penicillin.
