General Information ● The overall goal of this exam is to demonstrate your understanding of the key topics in Units 3 and 4 this specific unit but also the course as whole, and that you can apply this understanding in a real-world situation. ● Worth: 25% of the total mark for the course ● Due: April 21st by 11:59 PM. Feel free to submit it earlier. ● Late submissions will not be accepted. ● Keep your work to 4 decimals, unless otherwise stated ● If you use any sources outside of the course (i.e., not from course notes or the textbook), it is expected that you properly cite them (this includes videos and websites to complete any portion of the assessment). Throughout this document, instructions on where to put your outside sources are listed. Failure to do so is cheating. Rules 1. Most important rule: This is an individual final exam. The rules of this final exam are similar to other exams. That is, it must be completed by you and only you. The work you submit must be your work. The normal expectations of students completing an exam apply and as it is a final exam it is expected that you complete the exam without additional support as outlined below: a. You are not allowed to ask for help from another human or artificial intelligence (such as ChatGPT), show your work to another human (other than when you submit to your instructor), or in any way gain any form of assistance from another human or artificial intelligence. b. You cannot pay someone to do this exam for you. You cannot go to a website and share the document, get possible answers, and use them in any way. You cannot go to a website, look for the exam, get possible answers, and use them in any way. c. Communication about any portion of the exam in any way with any person other than your instructor and the course coordinator is strictly prohibited. d. Asking for any kind of help for this exam is strictly prohibited. Think like you are writing an in-person exam. You couldn’t lean over to your buddy and ask them how to make a histogram. So you can’t do it on this exam. e. Note: If two people submit strangely similar work, there is a very good chance that both students will receive 0 and will be sanctioned with academic misconduct. Further to this, I will pay special attention to students who have worked together in the past to see if their answers are similar. 2. It is an “open” book. This means you can use any resource (other than a human or artificial intelligence) you want to complete the submission. This includes the textbook, course notes, course videos, and internet sites (excluding homework help sites like Chegg and CourseHero). a. To be clear, you cannot use Chat GPT, Co-pilot or any other AI to complete this exam. 3. You can ask your instructor for help that involves clarification. If a question is asked often or is a very good question, updates will be presented in this document. Please check back regularly for any changes/clarifications. 4. You cannot ask your instructor for help doing the exam because you are expected to know how to do it. For example, if you do not know how to make a histogram, you need to figure it out on your own. Or if you are not sure what model to use in Step 3 of a hypothesis test, you need to figure it out on your own. 5. You cannot ask your instructor or anyone else for feedback. 6. For all parts, you can work as much or as little on it as you want. As long as it is completed by the due date. 7. This is a final exam and it needs to be completed on time.
