• The History of Cryptography The technique of deciphering codes to protect confidential data before it is sent via a computer network is known as cryptography. In order to prevent third parties or social engineers from accessing data that is encoded, data encryption is necessary. Cryptanalysis may be shown in an inscription carved approximately 1900 BC that uses cryptography. This artifact was found in Egypt's royal tomb of Khnumhotep II, in the main chamber (Haunts, 2019). The hieroglyphic symbols utilized by the Egyptians to conceal information were revealed to be included into the scribe's work. They eventually concluded that adding unique hieroglyphics wasn't meant to disguise data patterns, as they had first thought it was. Instead, it was used to alter the data's structural structure in an effort to elevate it. No secret codes were used, but the original data were altered in some way, yet the message itself remained unchanged. The use of cryptography by some of the citizens was discovered after some time. This was discovered after reading "Arthshashtra," a great text on statecraft. On the other hand, Julius Caesar was a data scientist who was well-known for employing encryption to conceal secret communications from all of the army generals stationed at the front lines of battle. The cipher was created by Vigenere in the 16th century. Caesar cipher was the first encryption technique to use this key characteristic. Because of this, Caesar Cipher is considered historical literature. Encryption and decryption of data were two of Cipher's many functions. A substitution cipher was used to replace the other kind of character while encrypting data using a cipher (Dooley, 2018). As a result, the three ciphers altered each cipher character. This overview shows that ciphers depend on system secrecy, not the encryption system key, to protect data. Every encrypted communication can be deciphered after the mechanism has been recognized. The frequency of letters in a language is another format that may defeat substitution ciphers.
