Five Hundred years ago a Portuguese explorer Fernāo de
Magalhāes was in charged in finding a Spanish route or a
Western route to Moluccas for the Spices, however, King
Manuel of Portugal did not support him for the reason that the
world is flat and so he might fall at the end of the world.
Magellan talk to King Charles I of Spain about his plan and so
the King supported him, so the Spanish official furnished 5
ships for the expedition; Trinidad, San Antonio, Concepcion,
Victoria and Santiago. On September 20, 1519 Magellan ships
left the Sancular de Barrameda, Spain. On November 29, 1519
the ships crossed the Atlantic Ocean. On August 1520, after
they reached the mouth of Santa Cruz River, South America the
Santiago ship had been wrecked while surveying for the
possible strait. On October 21, 1520 the four ship rounded the
Cabo of Virgenes (Argentina) and entered the passage of the
