Course Description This course focuses on developing dynamic web applications to facilitate the distribution of information. The course emphasizes development strategies for both front-end and back-end system. Significant work is concentrated on web development project that integrates mark-up language (i.e., HTML), server-side programming language (i.e., PHP) and scripting language (i.e., CSS and Javascript) at the intermediate to advanced levels. The organization of this course is divided into: 1. Theoretical aspects of internet and web technologies. 2. Practical work on developing front-end and back-end web system. Prerequisites Basic level of computer programming skill is mandatory. Besides, students must also have a proficiency level of algorithm design, database design, and structured query language (SQL) skills. Course Goals By the end of the course, students will be able to: 1. Implement technology infrastructures for web development. 2. Analyze user requirements. 3. Design user interface using mark-up language and scripting language. 4. Integrate database and server-side programming language with the front-end system.
